Our Fishing Experience

Your trip begins with your call to our expert staff. They will assist you in planning your trip, and get all the details settled. On the day of your arrival, we’ll be there to greet you at the airport or hotel. Sit back and take in the splendor of Turnagain Arm and the Chugach National forest as we bring you to Cooper Landing, home of the Kenai Riverside Lodge. Settle into your cabin, enjoy a delicious meal, and get some rest! Your first day of fishing begins very early (AWA is known for ‘first on the water’) and starts with a hearty breakfast, hot coffee and a mug to go. Fish up to 8 hours each day of your itinerary for the species you planned to include. Traveling with non-anglers? No worries, they will be guided on their activities while you fish, and enjoy lunch on the trail. On your final day, we will wave good-bye to you after breakfast, and drive you back up to Anchorage for a drop off at the airport or local hotel.

Why Choose Us

1. Wide Variety of Alaska Sportfishing Options to Suit Your Fishing Taste.

When you stay with us, you'll have the opportunity for a well-rounded fishing experience. We offer the best Kenai River fishing options; not only do we possess limited entry permits that allow us to fish the premium waters of the upper Kenai River in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge (home to sockeye salmon, silver salmon, rainbow trout and Dolly Varden), we're also permitted to fish the lower Kenai for king and silver salmon. We offer additional opportunities to fish for world-record halibut in Resurrection Bay. When you fish with us, you'll have the opportunity to sample various species, techniques, boats and scenery; or you can choose to focus on your favorite kind of fishing every day of your sportfishing adventure.

2. Experience Speaks for Itself.

Since 1977, Kenai Riverside Fishing has been guiding guests on Alaska fishing trips down the Kenai River. Our years of experience fishing both the upper and lower sections of the river has earned us the reputation as the fishing leader on the Kenai, and we take pride in sharing our experiences with all our guests.

3. Up to Eight Hours of Guided Fishing Per Day.

In the waters we fish, the bite can happen all day long and we want to maximize your chances of landing the fish. Two of the strategies we use are getting on the water early and staying on the water for a full eight-hour day. We find these to be two of the many reasons that our guests come back grinning in the evening with successful fish tales to tell (and fillets to freeze), and why so many of our guests choose to come back to fish with us!

4. Uniquely Alaskan Setting and Ambience, Great Food, Good Friends and Excellent Fishing Opportunities ~ What Else is There?

Kenai Riverside Lodge, home to the Kenai Riverside Fishing Program is nestled in the beautiful mountain town of Cooper Landing, the fishing mecca of Southcentral Alaska. We offer the only full-service lodge at the headwaters of the Kenai River. While staying with us, enjoy comfortable cabins, hearty home-cooked meals, a wood-fired sauna, good company and incredible Alaska fishing opportunities!

5. We've Got You Covered with the Best Alaska Fishing Guides, Equipment and Gear.

At the Kenai Riverside Fishing Program, our guides aren't just guides - they're our most important asset. Some have been coming back every summer for years, and we love when returning guests request a special guide. How do these years of experience translate into a benefit to you? Your Alaska fishing guide has already honed their skills on these waters. Our guides will teach you their special angling tips and tricks and set you up with the best producing baits, lures and flies. Whether you're an accomplished angler or a recreational fisherman, our guides look forward to putting you on the fish! From the time we pick you up in Anchorage until the time we drop you off, we'll take care of you. Our goal is to provide you with your dream Alaska fishing vacation. We'll take care of the details so you can put your feet up, relax and focus on that trophy salmon or trout you're after!
